The cow fancied itself quite pretentious. Being a particularly pretentious creature may not seem entirely worthy of celebration, but you are not a cow and would not understand these things. The cow was very thin, for it would only eat grass of the most tender and green variety. It liked to boast about this to other cows, even though possessing a slim figure is not often a priority of of most cows. This cow in particular was quite proud of the fact that it concerned itself with things other cows were perfectly content to ignore. In an unrelated accident, the pretentious cow was trampled to death while attending a buffalo relay race, an event most cows are inclined to avoid.


The author's comments:
I recently read "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", and it gave me a great big dose of creative inspiration. I hope this passage will make people look at the world a little differently.
