August 2022 Fiction Contest : Animal Instincts
I woke up. My home was shaking. All were trying to escape. Each one making an exit as fast as he could. I got out through a huge crack in the wall. I looked back and saw my home destroyed. Many escaped but some were trapped. The little ones…Who had done this? I looked around. I saw them laughing and pointing at my direction. They were sitting in the machine that destroyed our home. I was angry. I had to protect my family. I rush over and took the shot. Bullseye! He screamed, “I’m hit! Run! The bee stung me!”
I am a 12th grader at O'Gorman High School in SD. I enjoy writing for our school paper. I try to incorporate environmental awareness in some of my short stories.
