The Infection
It all started on October 15, 2020. For me it was like any other normal day in downtown Atlanta. The smell of exhaust was in the air from all the early morning traffic and the sidewalks were crowded with people coming and going. It rained the night before so there was still a fresh layer of water covering the sidewalks. I was walking down the sidewalk like I did any other normal day except I was trying not to step in any puddles, which wasn’t an easy task.
I was heading to my job at the bank when out of nowhere a lady screams at the top of her lungs. It was the loudest most terrifying scream I have ever heard. I looked around to see where the source of the scream came from but more and more screams pierced the air. All around me people were attacking each other. Not only were they attacking each other, they were eating each other. It was like straight out of a horror movie.
People started to panic and crash their cars into one another trying to escape the chaos that consumed downtown Atlanta. I just stood there frozen in fear. It was as if my body wouldn’t let me move. I just stood there watching the chaos unfold. Next thing I know is that a dead person, laying on the ground just twenty feet in front of me, stands up and looks around for someone to make a meal out of. That person would be me if I didn’t move anytime soon I thought as it turned and stared with white eyes into my soul.
It started to run at me with great speed and I panicked. I couldn’t just stand here and let it get to me. I finally got my body to cooperate with me and I started running because my life depended on it. As I started running I quickly realized that there was nowhere to run. The streets of downtown Atlanta were crowded with the undead and soon to be. I had nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. It all happened so fast I though as the undead sunk their teeth into my flesh. The world turned to black as I fell to the ground.
Then I woke up ready to join the undead.
