“Dad! Dad! Dad! Wake up, Dad! We’re being invaded!” said Hannah.

“Hannah, what’s going on?” asked Anna, her mother.

“HOW MANT TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT? WE’RE BEING INVADED! Dad, wake up!” Hannah cried out.

“Jeff, wake up now. I hear something.” Anna said while waking to her window. She whorled around and screamed “She’s right, Jeff wake up!”

“WHAT! Hannah go get your brothers, and send them to the safe. Get your younger sisters and your brother, and get to the truck!” ordered Jeff, her father.

“Okay!” she said running down the hall.


Hannah burst into her brother, Kyle’s, room and yelled “Kyle, get up and down to the safe. Dad is waiting!”

“What is going on, Hannah?” he asked groggily.

“We’re being invaded!” she said.

“What! Okay, I’m going.” Kyle said, while shooting out of bed and throwing on a shirt.

Hannah said” I’m going to get the other boys and send them down to.”

Kyle said “I’ll get Sean and Chris since they are on my way.”

“Okay, then I’ll get the twins.” Hannah yelled going down the hall to the twin’s room.


She slammed the twins door open and screamed “Brad, Brayden! Get up, now and get to the safe!”

Brad and Brayden said at the same time “what’s going on Hannah?” and “Is this another one of Dad’s drills?”

“No this is not another drill. WE ARE BEING INVADED! So get your lazy butts up!” she yelled.


Hannah had already gotten her younger sisters and brother, and she was getting the twins diaper bags together, when Kyle, and Chris, came running up to them.

“Hannah, we’ve been looking everywhere for you guys.” They said. “The soldiers have touched down. We have to go now.” they said while they grabbed Becca, and Lexi.

Hannah said”Alright. Bianca, Jessica, and Luke, follow Chris and Kyle to the truck, but stay together. And be silent, but quick. Do you understand?”

“Yes we understand.” They said through their tears.

They all went silently through the house, when they heard banging and the sound of a shot being fired.

Kyle whispered “I’m going to go and find out what that was. Here Chris,” Kyle handed Chris a hand gun. “You better protect them!” he said

“Of course I will. Are you crazy?” Chris said “ Go and find out if everyone else is okay.”


Hannah, and Chris were almost to the truck when Kyle and the twins came running up to them.

“Where’s Mom and Dad?” Chris, and Hannah said together.

Brayden explained “They have them. Brad and I just had time to hide. We tried to hide mom when they busted down the door.”

“We have to get out of here! Now!” Brad said, grabbing Lexi (who Kyle had put down), and ran to the truck.

“Okay, let’s go” they said together.


Once they were all in the truck, Kyle started it and went out on the street. What they saw was so horrifying that the younger ones had to close their eyes.

What they saw was their neighbors getting dragged out of their homes.

“Kyle, go through someone’s yard. They see us.” Said Chris.

“Crap! Hand on to the babies.” Kyle said while going up on the curb.

The soldiers told him to stop, but when he didn’t they took out their guns and tried to shoot the truck. They missed every single time.


When they were on the next street Kyle, Chris, and the twins saw their friends. When their friends saw then they waited till the soldiers wouldn’t be prepared and ran for the trucks after they grabbed their younger siblings. And they jumped into the back of the truck, and laid down, when the soldiers started to fire.

Kyle stomped on the gas and sped sown the next few streets when Hannah saw someone she couldn’t leave behind. “Jeremiah! Hurry” she screamed. When he saw her he grabbed his baby sister and mother and ran for the truck as well.

Soldiers started to fire their guns and his mom was hit. He handed his sister to Chris and picked up his mom and put her in the back and then jumped in after.

“Go Kyle! Go!” the twins said in unison.

Kyle, once again, stomped on the gas, and the truck lurched forward.

“Ah heck! Hurry, Kyle!” Hannah yelled. “They’re following us.”

Dang it! Okay hang on! He said and sped into the forest next to the highway.


He finally lost the soldiers after an hour and a broken tail light and window. They drove for about another hour until they reached a piece of land with a cabin. “We’re here.” Chris said and jumped out of the truck. “We haven’t been here since the babies were born.” Said Jessica.

“Yeah, we know. We’re are going to be here for a while. But at least we have enough stuff to help us for a lengthy period of time.” Hannah said. “Is everyone okay?”

“No my Mom was hit in the leg.” Jeremiah said.

“Okay bring her inside! Brad, get the first aid kit and Brayden get some towels. We’re going to need them.” Hannah said.
