There are many different options for after high school life, which for many of us is college. I have planned on going to a community college first and then transferring out and I have decided upon Lansing Community College in Lansing Michigan. Also known as LCC, this community college is like most, it will accept almost anyone coming fresh out of high school. The transfer programs are available for those who want to begin their undergraduate work at LCC and then complete a bachelor’s degree in another college.
As they say on their website, LCC is seen as Excellent, Convenient, Affordable and Practical. There is a wide range for courses of study, they range from accounting to aquatics, business, criminal justice, Dance to English, humanities, manufacturing, and all the way down to welding. Also with LCC come great amenities, such as: a library, liberal studies academic resource center, tutoring services and a writing center. The lookout is the schools newspaper to keep you informed on what is happening.

There is a downside however, to almost every college. This dreaded thing is paying for it. For college district resident students it is $73.oo for one billing hour, $134.oo for non-resident and $201.oo for out-of-state/international students. However they do provide scholarship opportunities and nearly one third of LCC students receive financial aid.
They do not offer any housing, so for living there you are on your own, though some local business or apartment complexes offer a cheaper college student rate for those who do not mind having a roommate. So next time you get the chance go and visit Lansing and see for yourself how you might like it or visit their website at www.lcc.edu.
