When visiting one of the best colleges in the world it’s kind of hard to believe you're there at first. When I visited Leland Stanford Junior University in Palo Alto California that’s the exact feeling I got. When I was at the college one of the highlights was hearing how close it was to the beach. I even talked to a student their who said: “I try to go to the beach at least once a week.” This to me is something that’s positive considering a beach is a place where people go to relax and have fun. Which is usually what students need sometimes when they're stressed from school. What impresses me, even more, is the size and design of the college. It reminds me of a California Mission. It’s very beautiful, big, and spanished inspired. When you go there you will definitely feel safe, comfortable, and feel like a part of a family.

The safe, comfortable feeling you get when you're around the students or dorms there is by far the best. A student even revealed their first experience at the school. Saying that as soon as she got there the students greeted her with open arms and said things like “welcome Sofia”. Do I remind you that she didn’t know anyone that was greeting her? Apparently, the student body memorizes the students attending the school. Making them feel welcomed and a part of a family. This sets it apart from other schools. It is also what gets students to pick this school in the first place aside from their academic reputation.

Although Stanford University has an amazing extracurricular and athletics program they’re usually lesser known for that. Mainly because their academic reputation is unparalleled to any other college. Don’t be fooled though Stanford has one of the best athletics and extracurricular programs than any other college in my opinion. They have an estimated total of about 625 clubs and organizations. A number that’s sure to continue rising considering Stanford supports and applauds individuality. The clubs and organizations fall under 10 main categories. You first have your athletic/recreational program that includes some sports like basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, and golf. Some other categories include ethnic/culture, health/counseling, and media/publications to name a few.

When it comes to Stanford you can’t go wrong it’s a triple threat, but every school has its weakness. Often students looking to apply to the school doubt their decision believing that Stanford University is a competitive, toxic, stressful environment. This, however, is not true Stanford is a friendly, stress-free environment that anyone can benefit from. Though ultimately it’s up to you on how you want your college experience to go.

Stanford University is literally one of the best colleges in the world. There isn’t a specific type of person that would do well here because anyone can. Students there learn and celebrate each other’s similarities and differences making it such a positive environment. You have people coming from all over the world and it’s just spectacular because everyone gets along so well. When you attend Stanford University you don’t just get the best education, but you get the best teachers and friends. Making Stanford the finest college in the world.

This article is about my experience at the Stanford. I wrote nothing, but the truth in this. Naming all the reasons why I and others want to attend this prestigious school. I enjoyed writing this article because when you write something you have experienced the ideas just come to you naturally. Especially when it's something so close to your heart.
