My Future
From the start of my freshman year to the start of my senior year I have had a strong interest in what I want to do with my future. I have always been someone who enjoys staying on task, achieving new things, and giving everything my best. I have also thoroughly been involved in several things throughout my time in high school, whether that be school clubs, sports, or even extracurricular activities. This has kept me extremely busy but it has also taught me several valuable life lessons. I plan to take these lessons and apply them to my future life at Auburn University where I will be studying nursing, in hopes of becoming a nurse practitioner.
Ever since I was a little girl I have been surrounded by all things Auburn. My family and I are big football and basketball fans and we have grown to enjoy watching softball and gymnastics. My grandmother and my mom also attended Auburn University, and my brother is currently enrolled at Auburn University. With that being said, I have always known that I would further my education at Auburn. I absolutely can not wait to make it my home and start on this new chapter in my life.
Along with the many clubs and activities I have been involved in throughout high school, HOSA has been one of the most impactful. The medical field has always intrigued me due to the fact that my mother is a nurse practitioner and my grandmother is a pharmacist. I am planning on graduating with a degree in nursing with hopes of becoming a nurse practitioner after a few years of work experience. This past semester, I had the opportunity to be a part of a health science internship program through my school. During this program I got the chance to shadow several clinical sites. I learned so much about different fields and it even narrowed my decision down to specialize in pediatrics. This program offered me many opportunities and many lessons that I will carry with me throughout the Auburn University Nursing Program.
My time at Opelika High School has not only been enjoyable but beneficial in my decision making process for my future. I am beyond excited and beyond confident that I will carry the lessons I have learned in high school with me to Auburn University in order to become the best version of myself. I am more than grateful for the opportunities I have received and I plan to continue putting myself out there in order to embrace the opportunities that my future has for me.
