On my forlorn pantry shelves there are

2 packages of organic whole wheat pasta
one jar of tomato sauce, “Made with real ­tomatoes!”
a tin of carmelized walnuts
3 cans of baked beans with pork
one jar of Jif
200 coffee filters
no coffee
an untouched box of instant oatmeal
an untouched box of pancake mix
180 multivitamins, also untouched
a 144-pack of chicken-flavor ramen
2 earplugs
one tiny jar of jalapeno jelly

I miss dinner at home
